Goodness- we have started thinking about Christmas and are excited to introduce our new ‘Experience’ Hampers

November already, the clocks have changed and those dark evenings are upon us. It’s all about comfort food at this time of year, casseroles and soups, steamed puddings and hot chocolate. Bonfire Night is a really special date in the calendar for the county, many villages and towns have their own bonfire societies and whilst the pandemic has definitely put a stop to their celebration over the past two years this November it is wonderful to see them return!
At Armchair Tasting Tours we have been putting together our Christmas Hampers, choosing the very best of Sussex food and drink to make the perfect, delicious gift. We hope you like them. Filled with lovely preserves for your Christmas table, nibbles, chocolate, a fabulous fruitcake and more, all packed with eco-friendly packaging and comprehensive tasting notes.
Our ‘A Sussex Christmas’ hamper is full of products that don’t need to be refrigerated whilst our ‘A Very Sussex Christmas’ also includes local cheeses, smoked salmon, charcuterie and luxurious treats. We think they make a great gift for family, friends and colleagues, check out our website and give Santa a break this year! Remember though, orders need to be with us by the 12th December for delivery the week of the 15th December – ready for the celebrations. Scroll down for more details.
We also have our ‘Year Round Hampers’ available and for anyone with a business who would like to treat their employees or customers, do contact us to let us know how we can help.
Out and About
We are heading out to lots of local markets and fairs this month, taking our lovely Christmas hampers with us so come and find us at The Stand Up Inn, Lindfield on the 4th November between 9 and 12, The Winter Fair at King Edward Hall, Lindfield on the 20th of November between 1 and 5pm. Then we are off to Hurstpierpoint and even further afield in December, find out more on Facebook or Instagram. We would love to meet you and find out about your local foodie favourites.

This month we wanted to celebrate our fabulous local markets. They offer producers, big and small, the chance to meet their customers and share their wares. It’s a great way to discover amazing local food and drink and support local business.

Horsham Market every Thursday and Saturday is held in Carfax. Lots of great local produce, street food, shopping and live music. Look out for the extra markets that they put on around Christmas. The added bonus is a trip to Crates, a great local food store full of fantastic Sussex produce.

Lewes Farmers Market has been voted the best farmers market in the Sussex Food  and Drink Awards 2021. Full of carefully selected stalls from cheese to breads, meat and vegetables, dog treats to pickles and jams, there is lots to see and enjoy. The market runs from 9am-1pm on the first and third Saturday of every month in the Friars Walk car park. Well worth a visit!

A shout out for Cuckfield market, smaller than Horsham or Lewes but well worth a visit. Held on the second Saturday of the month from 9 until 12 noon in The Rose and Crown car park. Discover seasonal fruit and veg, jams, pies, cakes and more.

Just a few of the fabulous markets in the county, what’s yours?
