We only choose the very best products that are made locally, this involves a lot of time and tasting (the things we do for you). We actively seek out really special, unusual and often less well-known producers. Our tours are meant to be a journey of delicious discovery!
We know this is not a question, however it’s an important issue so we’re going to answer as if it was. There are lots of different items to taste on our tours, where possible we will substitute so that you can enjoy as many of them as possible. There may be one or two “stops” that are not for vegetarians however we feel that they are exceptional products and had to be included.
There will be plenty of all the food and drink so don’t worry you won’t miss out, just enjoy a little more of the others and listen to the great stories behind these fabulous foods.
It’s really important to us that the tour is enjoyable and personal and so we have an upper limit on the number of households joining our zoom tour. There will be a maximum of 10, this allows everyone to ask questions, discuss the samples and have a fabulous and entertaining experience.
Obviously we design our tours and the boxes of loveliness we send to you to suit the number of people you have booked for. You can probably stretch the items for more people but we think it won’t be as enjoyable and you may not get enough of the food and drink to experience the tour as we intended.
The tour is curated to last about an hour and a half. However, there is a lot to taste, tell and enjoy. We love it when you ask questions and discuss the things you are tasting and so sometimes they may be longer. The most important thing for us is that you have a fab time.
Yes, please, we will do our very best to answer them! Please be respectful of the other tourers, we do want everyone to enjoy the event. If you think your household is having too much fun, the dog is barking or someone has decided to practice the trombone, feel free to mute until you have a question.
Probably not, there is a lot to taste. If you are ravenous then maybe a light snack to avoid hanger but leave room for the tour.
Our packaging has been designed and tested so that the tour samples reach you in perfect condition. Our boxes will be dispatched using a local overnight delivery service and will stay chilled for up to 48hours. We advise you however to unpack the box as soon as you receive it, and follow the storage instructions included.
Great question, we have sourced the most environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging possible. The pouch for the chilled food is made using sterilised sheeps wool. It is completely food safe and great at keeping everything at the right temperature, however it can smell a little sheepy. Do not worry this is normal and not at all harmful. Here comes a science fact, it’s much safer than the odour released by polystyrene which is often used to pack chilled food.
This is a great opportunity to try some amazing foods that might be new to you. We only include the best so this tour is the time to be bold and give it a go!
As soon as you know that you may be late to the Zoom call please let us know by emailing us on info@armchairtastingtours.co.uk. Joining a tour after it has started will not be enjoyable for you or the other participants. We have a self-guided tour available and will be happy to send it to you so that you can enjoy the whole tasting experience at your leisure.
